Naomi has had the same IV in her antecubital for 4 days. Her arm hurts and she says it feels broken. It makes her completely miserable and she doesn’t rest well at night. So this evening after her antibiotic and G-CSF are administered, they will remove the IV and tomorrow she will have a central catheter put in. I am hoping that it is some consolation to her for the fact that she expected to go home today, but instead was told that she may not go home at all before transferring to Milwaukee. Her ANC is less than 100 and her doctors are all concerned about how quickly she could become septic if she went home. That would delay the transplant upon our arrival to Wisconsin. So while I am heartbroken to still be hospitalized with her, I just want her to stay safe.
